- Saturday, May 10, 2008
Local volunteers will be cleaning up the Great Miami River from
Indian Lake to the Ohio River on the morningof Saturday, May
10, 2008. The clean-up on Butler Countys section of the
river is being coordinated by numerous county agencies, municipalities,
townships, and companies.
Clean Sweep volunteers will pick up trash, tires, and other debris
that does not belong along the river banks. The trash accumulated
at each site will be disposed of by participating city, municipal,
or township maintenance crews.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community
and help clean-up the Great Miami River. This event provides
an organized, fun, and easy community service project for groups
of all sizes including schools, scouts, churches, and adult clubs
& organizations.
A waiver will need to be signed by all participants and those
18 years of age or younger will need a parent or guardian signature.
Pre-registration will be available and large groups are encouraged
to pre-register. Appropriate attire will be required. All materials
for the clean-up will be provided free of charge. Commemorative
T-shirts will be distributed to each volunteer at the end of
the event.
If you have a favorite spot along the river and would like to
volunteer to be a site coordinator, contact one of the planners
listed below. Also please contact us with any questions or if
you are interested in helping any other way.
